About The Position

The Denver Post, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking a Platemaker to join the team! What you will do: Process plates to be sent through to the press Work within company safety guidelines Establish priorities and sequence of products to meet deadlines on a shift basis Be willing to be trained with imaging software and equipment Make sure jobs are setup correctly using the correct templates Analyze and/or assist to resolve quality and work flow issues Check to see that all imaging equipment, printer and plate bender are functioning properly What you will bring: Ability to manage the electronic flow of pages for job printing and to work with of FTP sites Comfortable with computer- related software programs to download files, prep files, and process files for plate production High school diploma or equivalent required Work environment & physical demands: This job operates in a warehouse and printing plant environment and routinely uses pallet jacks and forklifts Must be able to work with chemicals, loud noise, dusty areas and moving parts safely and wear hearing protection the entire shift While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms Requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis. Heavy work may exert in excess of 100 pounds of force to move objects Benefits and Compensation: The hourly wage is $26.19 .
