About The Position

The Plate Mounter is responsible for ensuring that printing plates are mounted accurately for use in flexographic printing press. This position requires high degree of accuracy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following. Reviews job tickets to verify mounting instructions to mount plates to cylinder per customer specifications Safety cuts plates to fit cylinder using a razor Uses solvent to wash back plate (plate preparation) Uses press blend to remove ink for repeats Uses video mounter and opticheck mounter for accuracy Applies/adheres plates to mounter Attaches plates with tape Follow AIB guidelines Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety instructions Participate in ongoing CI and Focus improvement processes

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum one year experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum one year experience working with plates in printing environment
This position has operations that require muscular coordination, proper lifting techniques and required lifting up to 75 pounds time to time. Hoist is available for use.
Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and bend
Must be able to use measuring tape
Familiarity with plate cutter
Math skills required for calculating plate placement on mount
