The Plastics Technician will assist the maintenance and production teams to achieve the best overall results. This person will have working knowledge of injection molding equipment and the ability to troubleshoot. Must take a proactive and positive approach to resolve issues and improve line performance. Capable of working with multiple departments and be team oriented. This position will assist with mechanical repairs as needed. The Plastics Engineer should be a self-starter and capable of managing time and projects with minimal supervision. All work should be completed in accordance with company policy, OSHA guidelines and state laws as applicable.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Engineering required or equivalent experience
  • 2 or more years of engineering experience and injection molding experience
  • Demonstrated experience in design engineering and/or drafting
  • Ability to perform essential functions with effective and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated experience in design engineering and drafting principles
  • Must be detail orientated and self-motivated with the ability to organize and prioritize workloads based on schedule and requests from project management.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of engineering fundamentals, principles, practices and procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Krones Certification desired on Blow molding equipment

Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of Krones Blow Molders, Husky Injection (PET/HDPE), Auxiliary equipment including: High Pressure Compressors, Chilled water systems, Tower water systems, and some water processing.
  • Must have willingness to train and learn new equipment.
  • Must know and understand all job responsibilities and tasks to be performed by the maintenance department.
  • Assists with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic repairs and changeovers on all factory equipment.
  • Troubleshoot set up, mechanical, and hydraulic problems
  • Occasionally operate equipment to provide short term coverage
  • Assist preventive maintenance team on all equipment.
  • Assists with parts purchasing and spare parts inventory on an as needed basis
  • Keeps all work areas in a clean and orderly appearance
  • Communicates effectively with all team members to resolve problems in a safe and efficient manner
  • Make routine checks on all equipment for problems and takes necessary action to correct problems discovered.
  • Inspects and ensures that all machinery is in good working order and meets production specifications.
  • Works closely with shift supervisor to establish and maintain a positive and safe working environment.
  • Reports all emergencies, injuries, and production incidents immediately to shift supervisor.
  • Finishes all required paper work at the by the end of shift each day.
  • Experienced using a multimeter
