About The Position

Overview Horton, Inc. has an opening for a 3rd shift Laser Operator to work in our Westminster, SC location. Standard hours are Sunday-Wednesday from 9:30 pm - 7:30 am with overtime, as needed. This job starts at $19.40 per hour and is based on experience. Position Information: This position reports directly to the Production Manager and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. This position is primarily responsible for the production of quality product using laser and balancer machinery. Requirements

  • A high school diploma, or equivalent (GED), is required.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to work well in a group and individually.
  • Some knowledge and familiarity with computers needed.
  • Some degree of mechanical aptitude may be required.
  • Previous experience with laser/CNC or similar equipment may be essential.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow instructions on routings and work instructions for each job.
  • Checks stock for adequate supplies, parts and any other items needed. Contacts material handler or Supervisor/Team Lead if shortages exist.
  • Responsible for the safe set-up and operation of plastic laser and basic troubleshooting.
  • Data entry into Oracle system.
  • Obtain first piece and last piece buyoff from the Quality department.
  • Perform frequent quality checks as directed by management or a Quality representative.
  • Relay all information about current job to oncoming shift.
  • Maintain production rate on each job.
  • Will be required to use applicable power equipment to move parts, box fans, bulk packages, or materials.
  • Train new operators, as needed.
  • Will be required to fill in as Operator in other departments as directed/rotated.
  • Practice 6S and always maintain clean and safe work areas.
