About The Position

This position is for a Plant Worker/General Laborer responsible for a variety of tasks within a processing plant. Key duties include unloading trucks, maintaining a clean work environment, transferring and packaging beans, stacking products, completing necessary paperwork, cleaning and inspecting shipping containers and truck trailers, applying seals, and loading trucks or rail cars using forklifts. The role also involves regular cleaning of spills, general areas, and machinery, and operating stretch wrapping palletizer equipment. The job requires significant physical exertion, including repetitive heavy lifting, and adherence to strict food safety and sanitation policies, including specific dress code requirements. The successful candidate must be willing to work extended hours, weekends, and mandatory overtime, especially during the harvest season.

Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. repetitively of bagged beans and stack them on shipping pallets.
Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and overtime during harvest season.
Overtime will be required not voluntarily at certain times throughout the year but especially during Harvest time.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Must wear company-required PPE and follow all food safety and sanitation policies.
Follow all company policies regarding food safety and security.
Ensure clothes are proper for your job: No grease, oil, paint or other such substances on your clothes.
No exposed jewelry other than plain wedding band.
No ripped clothing or frayed edges where fabric might fall into the beans.
No contaminated footwear.
Safety toe boots or shoes required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.

Responsibilities

Promptly and efficiently perform all duties assigned to you by your Processor or Operations Manager.
Unload trucks at harvest time.
Keep your work area and plant clean.
Unload bins and transfer beans to the processing plant.
Fill Totes & Bag beans.
Stack bagged beans on pallets.
Complete processing paperwork as required.
Clean shipping containers and truck trailers.
Inspect trucks and complete clean truck affidavits if required.
Apply seals on outbound truck loads.
Load trucks or rail cars as instructed using forklifts.
Regularly sweeping up and removing product spills.
Regularly sweeping the general areas around machines.
Regularly removing accumulated dust and debris from machines and the work area.
Operate stretch wrapping palletizer equipment to seal product packages.
Other duties as required and instructed.
