About The Position

The Plant Utility is responsible for performing a variety of tasks and duties across the plant to support production and operational needs. This role ensures the efficient production of parts and components that meet company and customer specifications while providing flexible assistance wherever needed to maintain workflow and meet business objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to shift between tasks and work areas as operational needs arise.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to supporting team goals.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members, leads, and supervisors.
  • Be able to demonstrate proficiency in reviewing and understanding electronic or written blueprints and/or specifications.
  • Must be able to work independently to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities are required
  • Must to be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Possess knowledge of machine tools.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements, which may include but are not limited to using tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Demonstrate regular, consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Flexibly supporting operations across the plant by performing assignments and tasks in various areas as directed by lead or supervisor to meet evolving business needs.
  • Collaborating with team members, leads, and supervisors to ensure production goals are achieved.
  • Operating various machines, including lathes and mills, to produce precision components according to specifications.
  • Setting up machines by installing fixtures, tooling, workpieces, and setting machine parameters (e.g., speeds, feeds, and offsets).
  • Troubleshooting machine issues, altering programs or machine settings to ensure efficient and accurate operations.
  • Inspecting and measuring finished products using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Making necessary adjustments to machinery to improve product quality or production efficiency.
  • Performing routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement, to ensure the longevity of the equipment.
  • Identifying and resolve mechanical or technical issues with machines to minimize downtime.
  • Communicating machine performance, production issues, or potential improvements to management.
  • Machining components to the proper dimensions and tolerances.
  • Using and understanding various paperwork including schedules, prints, and tech standards.
  • Comprehending and following directions from supervisor.
