Job Summary The Plant Utility Operator service as the Waste Water Treatment Technician and is responsible for the daily operation of the water treatment system.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Formal education or 1 to 3 years work experience in wastewater treatment.
  • Ability to work independently and required overtime.
  • Ability to work in a steady, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be flexible.
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the performance of all equipment, gauges and charts in the treatment plant.
  • Operate pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment processes.
  • Maintain, operate, repair and replace equipment as necessary.
  • Record statistical data concerning plant operations.
  • Maintain, modify or repair instrumentation and control equipment including recorders, flow meter and other water quality monitoring equipment.
  • Perform quality control test as required for the paint line.
  • Lead annual draining, cleaning and disposal of the paint line wash tanks and water.
  • Professionally interact with water treatment representatives from the private sector, local municipality, and the state.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by management.
