The Hull, Massachusetts wastewater treatment facility is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade that will make it able to handle anything that the New England weather and seasonal population can throw at it. In this Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator/ Mechanic role, you will be directly involved with Facility Operations and general maintenance of equipment at the Hull Wastewater Treatment Facility. Work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures. Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm, with rotating weekends, and be a part of the on-call operator rotation. In addition, operators will be required to respond to any emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed.

Requirements

  • Applicant must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
  • Preferred minimum of three years’ of related experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, or other mechanical concerns, such as HVAC or auto/truck repair.
  • Familiar with computers (Excel, Word, HACH WIMS, etc.), including report generation
  • Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical, and drug screen before employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Plant Grade 3 Certification is preferred, but W&C is willing to train the right, enthusiastic candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Daily operations and maintenance at the wastewater treatment facility and the pump stations as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Operation of assigned treatment, mechanical, and electrical equipment and other similarly related facility components and equipment.
  • Performing preventive maintenance activities as scheduled, including inspections of remote pump stations and their equipment.
  • Competent in corrective maintenance best practices and scheduling.
