About The Position

We, LCRA's Dam and Hydro team, is hiring a Plant Support Supervisor. In this position, you will lead the daily maintenance/repair of the 6 LCRA dams, infrastructure, and admin buildings while working outdoors and around high voltage equipment in a power plant environment. As supervisor, you will manage your assigned crew so that all scheduled work is completed safely, efficiently, with the highest degrees of quality, and as planned. You will also support River Operations during flood events in the Lower Colorado River Basin, through flood gate operations. Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in construction or equipment installation, maintenance and/or repair.
  • Driver's license. Class A Texas commercial driver's license or equivalent from another state required for Irrigation Operations and Parks departments

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and skill of materials and tools used construction and maintenance and heavy equipment
  • Leadership, direction and supervision of staff skills
  • Advanced skill in reading and interpreting diagrams and prints
  • Skill in communicating effectively with team members, supervision / management and external organizations under normal and emergency conditions
  • Basic skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and direction to work group and monitor work and project completion.
  • Schedule personnel and equipment needed for ongoing and special projects.
  • Ensure that workers who operate LCRA-owned or rented equipment are properly trained in the safe and proper use of the equipment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and handle performance-related issues. Give feedback to employees on quality and quantity of work produced.
  • Provide instruction and training as needed.
  • Review both short-term and long-term workload schedules to ensure adequate workflow.
  • Provide safety leadership. Ensure safety procedures and policies are adhered to.
  • Develop statement or work cost estimates.
  • Monitor and track job costs and time charged. Plan projects to ensure availability of material and resources cost effectiveness, and efficient use of personnel. May serve as point of contact for customers, vendors, and/or the general public.
  • Ensure schedules and maintenance intervals are met. Develop maintenance and test procedures and programs. Coordinate major equipment installation and maintenance with other work groups or departments and perform field service.
  • Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various Dam & Hydro locations as scheduled.
