About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising production personnel, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and supporting operational goals. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and technical skills, along with the ability to train and motivate team members while maintaining production efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
  • Knowledge of production principles, practices, and methods in packaging manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with departmental policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting production machinery.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and database systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including problem-solving, negotiation, and active listening.
  • Mathematical ability sufficient for machine adjustments and production calculations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage, motivate, and train staff effectively.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make accurate and timely decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enforce company safety rules and regulations.
  • Supervise and coach production staff, including onboarding, training, and ongoing development.
  • Inspect products for compliance with specifications; oversee machine setup, adjustments, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Ensure first-run jobs meet customer requirements and perform quality checks on jobs prior to operation (color, layout, size, UPC grade, substrate, ink system, SOP standards, etc.).
  • Monitor production schedules and estimate labor hours to ensure timely job completion.
  • Manage materials inventory, requisitions, and inspections.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to meet production and quality standards.
  • Analyze and resolve work-related issues while supporting employees in problem-solving.
  • Maintain accurate time and production records.
  • Evaluate production procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure completion of sanitation and safety logbooks; participate in audits and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Enforce GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) in compliance with the SQF (Safe Quality Food) Manual.
