About The Position

The Second Shift Plant Supervisor oversees the Plant employees to assure departments are running smoothly and efficiently. Amongst coordinating the Operations, this person is responsible for the morale in the Plant and will need to keep in constant communication with leaders and employees to assure jobs are done correctly while communication is strong and professional amongst colleagues.

Requirements

Advanced knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP experience required)
General understanding of Manufacturing Business Processes
Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
Operate Forklift and electric hand truck
Good decision-making abilities and leadership skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to efficiently network and coordinate processes
Understanding of production flow principles and manufacturing processes
Highly motivated & energetic with a strong work ethic
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet multiple deadlines
Good verbal and written communication skills
Adherence to safety regulations within the workplace
Ability to work in an office and team environment
Positive attendance and punctuality

Responsibilities

Supervise departmental goals
Responsible for monitoring and accomplish second shift production schedules
Plan, organize and direct the Manufacturing and Maintenance Operations which ensure the most effective return on assets
Support company metrics as needed (Audits, On-time Delivery, PPM rating)
Participate to the S&OP meeting
Provide an initial contact point for problem resolution in the Plant and escalate to each department managers if necessary
Work to resolve issues by providing clear communications amongst team related activities along with relevant reporting to appropriate department managers
Interview, select, train, evaluate and discharge relative second shift personnel as necessary in agreement with each department manager
Support the VP of Operations and President with KPI settings and aid in the efforts to chart monthly effectiveness within the Plant involving key lead personnel with data management
Continually improve safety environment by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes (aligned with OSHA requirements)
Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas including implementation and maintaining of 5S principles
Keeps VP of Operations and each department manager informed of workload and of any problems
Motivates staff to achieve an effective use of manpower and enhance human resource utilization
Propose plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital
Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Bonfigliolis strategic initiatives
Develop and implement Production tracking and Quality Control systems by analyzing Production, QC, Maintenance and other Operational reports to detect potential areas for improvement
Able to make long term and short term plans in a bid to increase the profitability and efficiency of the Plant
