Waga Energy was founded on a commitment to preserving the common good and ensuring a sustainable future, driven by the urgent need to combat global warming and facilitate a sustainable energy transition. The company has pioneered a breakthrough WAGABOX® technology that converts landfill gas into high-quality biomethane, also known as Renewable Natural Gas (RNG). These units are designed to deliver biomethane suitable for direct injection into the gas grid or use as vehicle fuel, regardless of the raw biogas quality. Waga Energy builds, owns, operates, and maintains these WAGABOX® units under long-term contracts with landfill owners, sharing biomethane sales revenue. Operational since 2015 at numerous landfill sites globally, this solution provides clean, local renewable energy. Waga Energy is dedicated to making RNG accessible to all, guided by values of Boldness, Mastery, and Cooperation, with employees across Europe, North America, and other regions united by the goal of maintaining a livable planet for future generations. This Plant Operator position is a key member of the operations and maintenance team, responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of a WAGABOX® landfill biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG) unit. While primarily assigned to the McKean landfill in Mount Jewett, PA, the role requires travel to other WAGABOX® sites in Elmira, NY, Angelica, NY, and Bath, NY as needed. New hires will also undergo a 3-4 day orientation at Waga Energy’s corporate office in Bala Cynwyd, PA, followed by approximately 2-4 weeks of training at one of the WAGABOX® sites.
