The Maintenance Journeyman performs all of the electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs and maintenance to the equipment. It is a multi-craft position that requires mechanical, maintenance, carpenter, plumbing, welding, and electrical skills. The Maintenance Journeyman will: Install, repair, erect, dismantle and assemble all types of plant machinery and electrical or electronic equipment and component parts (such as motors, switches, control boards, PLCs VFDs, generators, circuit breakers, etc.) Inspect glass forming machines and miscellaneous factory operating machines, related parts and components Makes line repair adjustments to glass forming machines Weld, braze, scrape, solder and cut various types of metals necessary for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components and equipment Determines cause of breakdown or required repairs, reconditioning or replacements The Maintenance Journeyman should have: Knowledge of gearboxes, VFDs, and job change processes Experience reading blue prints, wiring diagrams, shop hand books and layouts Experience completing routine reports and correspondence Ability to work a rotating shift schedule
