The Plant Manager leads the overall strategic, tactical, and financial operations of a chemical process manufacturing facility of varying size, complexity, and volume by: Maintaining a safe work environment for all employees while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations, as well as company guidelines Developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic plan for the plant, balancing immediate operational needs with the long-term goals of the organization Fostering an inclusive and positive team environment that encourages open exchange of ideas, emphasizing honesty, integrity, and respect, and promoting broad participation to achieve desired results Delivering high-quality services, processes, programs, and products to internal and external customers while continuously seeking opportunities to improve outcomes and enhance service Demonstrating positive leadership through open and effective communication, motivation, leading by example, and implementation of best practices Providing appropriate guidance, ongoing feedback, support, and resources to enhance the effectiveness of individuals and teams We understand that candidates will not meet every single desired qualification . The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Eight or more years of experience, depending on plant size, in a manufacturing environment with increasing levels of responsibility across multiple disciplines (e.g., production, safety, engineering), preferably within a chemical processing facility
  • Five to ten years of supervisory experience, depending on plant size, leading, influencing, building, and developing diverse, cross-functional teams across various levels and skill sets, including hourly, salaried non-exempt, and exempt professional staff
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing a high-dollar annual operating plan and budget within a cost-conscious environment and with appropriate financial controls
  • Experience working within and complying with applicable regulations for the specific area, country, or region, including safety, environmental, quality, and financial standards and laws
  • Chemical Process Expertise – Strong technical knowledge of chemical processes and production operations within a plant environment
  • Manufacturing Process Knowledge – Ability to analyze manufacturing and business processes to drive optimization using continuous improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing practices)
  • Financial and Statistical Knowledge – Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data, operational information, and financial reports; understanding of financial statements, costing methodologies, and cost-benefit analysis
  • Business Acumen – Understanding of the drivers that impact business performance and growth
  • Regulatory Compliance Knowledge – Ability to work within and ensure compliance with applicable local, regional, and national safety, environmental, quality, and financial regulations
  • Employee and Labor Relations – Experience working in both unionized and non-unionized environments; knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, grievance procedures, mediation, and arbitration
  • Computer Skills – Working knowledge of relevant software systems, including SAP, email platforms, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Team and Talent Development – Promotes a team-oriented approach that leverages diverse perspectives, experiences, and capabilities to drive better outcomes; encourages and supports professional development; demonstrates the ability to motivate others toward shared goals
