About The Position

Plant Manager – Arlington, TX Huntsman is seeking a Plant Manager supporting the Downstream Manufacturing Division located in Arlington, TX. This position will report to the Americas Downstream Manufacturing Manager. Job Scope The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the Arlington Operations team to achieve company objectives by driving performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role provides overall leadership for plant operations, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. In summary, as the Plant Manager, you will: Drive plant KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance. Translate corporate strategies into actionable plant-level objectives and ensure accountability across all levels of the operations team. Communicate KPIs, priorities, and goals clearly and consistently to the operations organization. Provide daily direction and leadership to operations personnel. Remove operational and organizational roadblocks to enable high team performance and achievement. Engage employees at all levels to identify, develop, and execute continuous improvement initiatives. Develop supervisors and direct reports through coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Foster a collaborative and teamwork-driven environment by eliminating unnecessary job restrictions. Provide annual performance evaluations and ongoing feedback. Assess, improve, and maintain positive plant morale. Develop, manage, and ensure compliance with the plant operating and spending budget. Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities and manage variable overtime and expenses. Provide input to capital planning and support execution of assigned projects. Participate in and support internal and external audits. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including EHS, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, HR, and Sales to meet customer and stakeholder needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with progressively increasing supervisory and leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership and people development capabilities.
  • Proven ability to drive accountability and performance through KPIs.
  • Excellent project management and execution skills.
  • High level of personal accountability and situational awareness.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in both individual and group settings.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related business software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in chemical or process manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading plant-level cost optimization or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.
