About The Position

Russell Standard is seeking a Plant Manager for its facility in Baltimore, MD. Join Russell Standard and work at the intersection of road preservation and asphalt science. Join our team and help move our communities and country forward. Summary The Plant Manager is vital to the overall operation of the plant and facilities. Plant Managers lead and direct the team for the day-to-day operations and production of asphalt.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years in management and/or leadership position
  • Minimum of five (5) years in construction, manufacturing, or production
  • Basic understanding of chemical and mechanical engineering
  • Solid math and reading skills, and the ability to understand technical manuals
  • Aptitude for learning new tasks and skills
  • Ability to work in and lead a team. as well as the ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Willingness to be flexible in scheduling
  • Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds, occasionally enter confined spaces, tolerate scents common to fuels and asphalt operation
  • Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standing
  • Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity

Nice To Haves

  • Education in business, engineering, trades, or related discipline
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory functions

Responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises all plant personnel
  • Determines personnel schedules and coordination of work
  • Ensures product compliance with all company and all governmental agency (local, state, and federal) regulations
  • Ensures environmental compliance with all company and all governmental agency (local, state, and federal) regulations
  • Plans and oversees all preventative maintenance, maintenance projects, repairs, and contractors
  • Works to achieve annual budget and control plant costs
  • Follows and promotes all safety policies and practices
  • All other duties as assigned
