About The Position

Crafco, Inc. is seeking a Plant Manager to lead our pavement preservation Manufacturing and Retail operation in Memphis, TN. The Plant Manager will lead and oversee all functions of this hybrid facility that is both a manufacturing center and retail store. The Plant Manager is responsible for all building and staffing operations, manufacturing equipment, inside sales, equipment service center, safety and regulatory compliance, rental equipment fleet, purchasing, inventory, and ensuring quality-controlled manufacturing and production of the following materials: asphalt sealer, pothole cold patch, and pavement stencils. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Retail or inside sales experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management, manufacturing operations, warehousing operations, shipping, and purchasing.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, and ERP systems (SAP experience a plus).
  • Knowledge and understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and requirements.
  • Have or obtain forklift certification.

  • Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Continuous Improvement backgrounds are preferred, and candidates with these attributes will have higher consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on, working management position of a small team (5-7) of full-time and some seasonal employees.
  • Accountable for all day-to-day manufacturing and operations, proper staffing and ensure all functions perform accurately, safely, and on time. Fill-in and support positions for coverage, when necessary.
  • Promote and maintain positive and professional relationships with employees, staff, customers, visitors, and vendors.
  • Understand and oversee all manufacturing phases for all products including: Production, Lab Testing, Kitting, Loading tanks, and Shipping.
  • Manage raw materials and ensure proper inventory, ordering, and daily and monthly batch production.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Manage service center for customer and rental fleet equipment.
  • Ensure effective maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment, facility infrastructure, and rental fleet equipment.
  • Lead and manage inside retail sales goals, performance, and coordination with outside sales team.
  • Manage seasonal duties, planning, maintenance, sales projections, and budgeting needs.
