About The Position

The Plant Manager will manage and lead overall plant operations ensuring the achievement of plant targets for Safety, Quality, Service and Cost. This will be executed through providing strong leadership to the plant team and managing the systems, equipment, people, and materials according to the established policies, procedures, specifications, and customer requirements. This individual reports directly to the VP of Operations. Emphasis on LEAN implementation, Continuous Improvement project leadership, budget and P&L management and the ability to develop department managers who can eventually run their own plant. Must be the site leader in living and driving the Company Core Values and High-Performance Work Culture.

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, rates, and percentage.
  • Must be competent with standard quality control testing equipment and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect of data, establish of facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Certified in First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens.
  • Valid state level driver's license, which meets Company requirements of the Fleet Management Policy and insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall safety performance of the plant by ensuring procedures are followed
  • Partner with Global Quality, EHS, and HR to ensure proper tools, processes, and training are being utilized
  • Oversee food safety objectives (SQF) are followed and supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the food safety system
  • Directs plant operations for the manufacturing of products in accordance with process and product specifications and quality standards, complying with contractual and/or customer requirements and meeting financial objectives
  • Provides, justifies, administers, and manages the plant operating budget
  • Responsible for plant compliance with all legal requirements
  • Develop and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility
  • Evaluate employees and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste
  • Attract and retain superior talent to execute the Plant functions
  • Develop plans that ensure operations run smoothly
  • Reviews KPIs and makes recommendations for efficiency improvements to both processes and associate performance
  • Implement contingency plan to the level required by the position
  • Establishes a strong relationship with the customer(s)
  • Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage to meet customer needs
  • Deliver a consistent, high-performance experience to our employees and customer(s)
