Plant Manager / Operations Director Lead. Transform. Deliver. Are you a hands‑on manufacturing leader who thrives in a Lean environment, leads from the floor, and knows how to deliver results through people? We’re looking for a Plant Manager / Operations Director to lead our Oshkosh manufacturing site through its next phase of growth and continuous improvement. This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for safety, food safety, quality, people, performance, and culture—and the opportunity to make a visible, lasting impact. Why This Role Matters As Plant Manager, you will own the entire manufacturing operation, guiding teams through Lean transformation to build a safe, efficient, and resilient production system. Your mission is to eliminate waste, shorten lead times, improve quality, and exceed customer expectations—every day—regardless of volume or market conditions. You’ll collaborate closely with Distribution, Planning, Labor Relations, Finance, Sales, and HR while developing strong frontline leadership and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven Plant Manager or Operations leadership experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing background with disciplined PDCA execution
  • Excellent people leader who can develop teams, influence across functions, and communicate clearly at all levels
  • Data‑driven decision maker with strong business, financial, and operational acumen
  • Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to balance safety, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Printing or paper converting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead all plant operations including safety, food safety, quality, production, cost, and training
  • Drive Lean and PDCA‑based problem solving to improve performance and eliminate waste
  • Develop and coach leaders to build a high‑engagement, high‑accountability culture
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, and food safety standards
  • Partner proactively with union leadership, applying the CBA consistently and effectively
  • Use data and KPIs to anticipate issues, identify trends, and deploy corrective actions
  • Own budget performance, capital planning, and cost optimization
  • Lead cross‑functional collaboration to ensure world‑class service and customer satisfaction
