As the Ice Cream Plant Manager, you will spearhead overall production operations, ensuring optimal efficiency and quality control. Your role involves managing a dedicated team, implementing production schedules, overseeing inventory, and continuously improving processes. From maintaining equipment to meeting production targets, you'll be the key player in creating a seamless and delicious ice cream production experience. Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of increasing levels of responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 plus years’ experience with implementing Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Strong leadership background – ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
  • Financial/budget management experience.
  • Capital project development, cost estimation, and management skills.
  • Proven negotiation, management, interpersonal, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Managing for Results/ Development skills
  • Production Engineering knowledge.
  • Ability to interface with regulatory agencies.
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication.
  • Ability to manage and develop employees.
  • Strong skills Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications

  • Oversee and optimize plant operations to enhance efficiency and productivity.

  • Quality Control:
  • Uphold and elevate quality standards, ensuring that every product meets or exceeds regulatory and internal specifications.
  • Implement and oversee robust quality control processes throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Operational Optimization:
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Implement changes to enhance productivity while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Resource Management:
  • Efficiently manage resources, including personnel, equipment, raw materials.
  • Optimize production schedules and inventory levels to meet demand and minimize waste.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Prioritize and enforce safety protocols throughout the plant.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and champion a culture of safety among all employees.
  • Regulatory Compliance Expertise:
  • Stay abreast of food safety regulations and ensure the plant’s compliance.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and manage inspection to uphold industry standards.
  • Budget Oversight:
  • Manage the plant budget effectively, balancing financial constraints with operational needs.
  • Implement cost-control measures without compromising quality.
  • Innovative Problem Solver:
  • Address challenges promptly and implement effective solutions.
  • Foster a proactive problem-solving culture within the team.
  • Communication:
  • Collaborate with other departments such as supply chain, logistics, and marketing to ensure seamless operations.
  • Facilitate open communication channels to address inter-departmental challenges.
  • Performance Metrics Excellence:
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge plant performance.
  • Implement a data-driven decision-making process to drive continuous improvement.
