About The Position

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining site reliability by performing high-quality inspections, troubleshooting basic preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, and executing routine maintenance with no supervision. This role includes replacing basic components and assisting in minimizing unplanned downtime through proactive maintenance efforts.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in operations, preferably within the aggregate industry.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Valid Driver's License
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and MSHA/OSHA regulations.
  • Strong understanding of plant operations and maintenance requirements
  • Proficiency in conducting thorough inspections of all site areas
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic PM and maintenance issues
  • Knowledge of component replacement and its impact on plant performance
  • Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment: Ability to independently perform routine maintenance and component changes
  • Monitoring Processes, Materials, or Surroundings and Troubleshoot: Detail-oriented approach to inspections and identifying potential failures
  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems: Strong troubleshooting skills for basic mechanical and operational issues
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effective collaboration with team members to support plant operations
  • Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards: Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively within a team
  • Proactiveness: Proactive mindset in minimizing unplanned downtime and improving reliability

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE, and following MSHA/OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a high level of situational awareness to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Follow a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment to avoid unexpected breakdowns, which might involve component changes, tear-downs, and rebuilds.
  • Inspecting and replacing key components that are crucial for maintaining efficient plant operations. Technicians must understand how replacing or servicing parts affects the overall performance and longevity of the equipment.
  • Troubleshooting the root cause of simple issues quickly and efficiently. Maintenance Technicians should be able to fix minor equipment issues immediately to avoid larger breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance, such as crushers, screens, and conveyors, to ensure equipment is operating at full capacity.
  • Reviewing and updating equipment logs to identify patterns in maintenance needs and determine if any equipment is being overused or consistently breaking down, adjusting the operational schedule, or suggesting repairs before larger issues arise.
