About The Position

Liberty Tire Recycling is looking for a Plant Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day industrial mechanical support of large machinery in our manufacturing facility. You will maintain and repair a variety of industrial equipment, including shredding machines, granulators, and bucket elevators. This position requires a proactive approach to equipment maintenance, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely at our Salt Lake City, UT facility. Successful candidates must be able to understand, assess, troubleshoot, and refurbish different arrangements of pneumatic systems, mechanical components, welding and fabrication work, and millwright-related tasks as necessary.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an industrial mechanic technician, preferably in rubber or plastic recycling.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial machinery, welding, fabrication, and millwrighting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • 2-3 years experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry
  • Minimum of 2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting (highly preferred).
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Maintenance electrician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of metal properties and appropriate welding techniques.
  • Proficient in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or flux-core welding.
  • In Depth knowledge of electrical systems, machinery and circuitry.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications or technical training in mechanics, welding, fabrication, or millwrighting are a plus.
  • Certification or degree in Electrical or Industrial Maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on industrial equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical and industrial systems within the manufacturing facility.
  • Document actions, parts used, and time spent on work orders.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on company's equipment.
  • Inspect and repair manufacturing machines as required.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, shaping, and assembly of metal components.
  • Execute millwright duties such as equipment installation, alignment, and rebuilding.
  • Other duties as needed.
