About The Position

Sunlight Batteries USA, part of a global leader in advanced energy storage solutions, is seeking a skilled and dependable Plant Maintenance Technician (Lead) to support our high‑performance manufacturing operations. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for ensuring facility and equipment reliability, coordinating day‑to‑day maintenance activities, and supporting safe, uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a proactive maintenance mindset, and the ability to lead by example in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
  • Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Basic proficiency with CMMS for work order management and maintenance tracking.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing devices.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Proven ability to prioritize work and perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Basic leadership or lead experience coordinating work or mentoring other technicians.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime or weekends, as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work around moving equipment, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as business needs require.
  • Ability to wear required PPE.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a high‑volume or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC systems (diagnostics, troubleshooting, or basic programming).
  • Familiarity with automation systems, conveyors, robotics, or manufacturing controls.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis or thermography.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prior experience supporting equipment installations, upgrades, or capital projects.
  • Experience in battery manufacturing, chemical processing, or regulated environments.
  • OSHA or safety certifications (OSHA 10/30, LOTO, confined space, arc flash).
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or industrial equipment certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Support and prioritize daily maintenance activities to ensure minimal production downtime and equipment reliability.
  • Provide lead guidance to maintenance technicians, including task coordination, troubleshooting support, and informal mentoring.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with PPE requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and all safety procedures.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to equipment issues and unplanned downtime.
  • Perform and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment are operating safely, efficiently, and in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory standards.
  • Support facility maintenance needs, including building systems and infrastructure.
  • Execute and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and implement long‑term corrective actions to improve reliability.
  • Support equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history using a CMMS.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating maintenance SOPs and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Monitor equipment performance and analyze trends to identify opportunities for improved uptime and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Recommend process and maintenance improvements to reduce costs and unplanned downtime.
  • Work closely with Production and Operations teams to align maintenance priorities with production goals.
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Support capital projects, new equipment installations, and commissioning activities as needed.
