Plant Technician-Maintenance
About The Position
The Plant Technician-Maintenance, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, overhauls, diagnoses, tests and maintains all power plant equipment and systems. Provides environmental and safety compliance. Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal and State regulations and plant procedures. Keeps all equipment in optimum operating condition. Develops maintenance procedures for plant equipment to ensure consistent and safe operation. This position will require shift work. Plant Technician-Maintenance will be required to learn plant operational duties and complete operational training qualifications. Plant operational duties will be required as directed.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical ability. Machinist skills and abilities are a plus, but not required.
- Hands on experience with all aspects of power plant mechanical maintenance and a working knowledge of power cycles.
- Ability to work in a high-performance work system with minimum supervision.
- Working knowledge of Excel and PC based applications.
- Over four years of work experience or equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet Company driving standards.
- Performs job duties safely and adheres to all safety and environmental compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to complete job assignments in a setting that requires teamwork, as well as independent decision making in an industrial environment.
- Skills are required in the area of maintenance.
- Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to train in other areas (operations, mechanical, electrical, I&C, etc.).

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains all equipment as required to support plant operations.
- Uses computerized maintenance management system to maintain and control work order system spare parts inventory and to properly close and document completed work orders.
- Trains and develops other employees in performing preventive maintenance and routine equipment service activities.
- Assesses equipment or system problem identification and recommends solutions.
- Develops maintenance procedures for plant equipment to ensure consistent and safe operation.
- Ensures that appropriate safety tagging procedures are followed.
- Assists in requisitioning parts and supplies.
- Operates, maintains and troubleshoots various types of equipment.
- Ensures equipment maintenance schedules are adhered to and any malfunctions are reported, documented and addressed.
- Will be subject to rotating shift work, holiday and weekend work in addition to short overtime notice.
- Serves as technical liaison between Contract Administrator and contract service provider.
- Completes all compliance training requirements (NERC, OSHA, Environmental, etc.).
