About The Position

Liberty Tire Recycling is looking for a Plant Maintenance Technician. As a Plant Maintenance Technician, you would be responsible for the day-to-day electrical and mechanical support for large industrial machines in our manufacturing facility. You will be maintaining and repairing a variety of industrial equipment, including shredding machines, granulators, and bucket elevators. This role requires a proactive approach to equipment maintenance, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely at our Salt Lake City, UT facility. Successful candidates must be able to understand, assess, troubleshoot, and refurbish different arrangements of pneumatic & electronic instrumentation, electrical applications as necessary.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Industrial technician, preferably in a recycling or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical knowledge and experience with industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • 2-3 years experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry
  • Minimum of 2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting (highly preferred).
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Maintenance electrician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of metal properties and appropriate welding techniques.
  • Proficient in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or flux-core welding.
  • In Depth knowledge of electrical systems, machinery and circuitry.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications or technical training in mechanics and electrical systems is a plus
  • Certification or degree in Electrical or Industrial Maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on industrial equipment and other machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining the electrical-mechanical machines in the manufacturing facility.
  • Document actions, parts and time-usage to work orders.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on company's equipment.
  • Inspect and repair manufacturing machines as required.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal parts by cutting, shaping, and welding components.
  • Other duties as needed.
