About The Position

The Plant Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the overall maintenance of mechanical equipment and mechanical systems. This role involves coordinating and performing preventive and corrective maintenance, scheduling and coordinating repair, modification, and preventive maintenance operations. The technician will assist in the development and review of standard operating procedures, participate in HAZOPs and FMEAs, and serve as a location liaison with the corporate process safety group. Responsibilities also include overseeing and/or performing new equipment installations, utilizing hand and portable power tools while following safe working practices, and potentially advising management on equipment life, usage, and new equipment purchases. The technician ensures operations technicians understand and follow safe working practices and coordinates the movement of materials and equipment. Participation in Sixth Sigma Projects is also expected.

Requirements

  • high school diploma/GED required
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA Process Safety Management Program elements including Mechanical Integrity, Management of Change, Operating Procedure Elements
  • Knowledge of welding techniques
  • Knowledge of high-pressure piping systems
  • Knowledge of cryogenic pumps and systems
  • Basic Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Computer skills including Microsoft applications

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science strongly preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of equipment maintenance experience in chemical manufacturing setting preferred

  • Coordinates and oversees the movement of materials and equipment as required
  • Participates in Sixth Sigma Projects
  • Other duties as defined
