About The Position

The Plant General Manager will lead all aspects of manufacturing operations, driving operational excellence, technical innovation, and strategic growth. This role requires a proven leader with deep expertise in product manufacturing, metal fabrication, and assembly processes, who can optimize production systems, implement advanced engineering practices, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The GM will be accountable for profitability, safety, quality, and delivery performance, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high employee engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in plant/engineering/general management.
  • Proven experience in electrical product manufacturing, metal fabrication, and assembly operations.
  • Expertise in Lean Six Sigma.
  • Demonstrated success in budget management, cost reduction, and operational scaling.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Office tools; familiarity with AutoCAD and manufacturing configurators.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of panelboard/switchgear a plus.
  • Experience in metal fabrication, assembly, and electrical products a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Scale operations to support increased commercial and custom product demand, including electrical assemblies and panelboard/switchboard systems.
  • Implement advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Maintain strict adherence to UL, NEC, and ISO standards for electrical products and fabrication processes.
  • Build technical capability across engineering, production, and quality functions to meet strategic objectives.
  • Oversee end-to-end plant operations, including Production, Fabrication, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Service.
  • Implement manufacturing engineering best practices, including process validation, tooling optimization, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, VSM, and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve throughput.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost; ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on new product introduction (NPI) and design-for-manufacturability improvements.
  • Manage plant budget, forecast production capacity, and ensure alignment with corporate financial targets.
  • Drive digital transformation through ERP optimization (SAP or similar) and advanced data analytics for real-time performance tracking.
  • Serve as primary liaison for customer escalations and technical inquiries, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
