Own the program. Elevate the standard. Help build a safer, greener operation by running point on compliance, training, and continuous improvement. What you'll do Practice and enforce safe work habits at all times; immediately correct and/or report unsafe conditions. Create, update, and implement plant and corporate safety policies and procedures. Maintain full alignment with OSHA and EPA regulations. Provide recurring safety training for shipping/receiving personnel, with an emphasis on lift truck and clamp truck rules. Partner with the Corporate EHS Manager to address plant safety and environmental priorities. Perform and log required mobile inspections. Deliver required training and lead new-hire safety orientation. Adhere to Food Contact Packaging Safety requirements as outlined in the SQF Quality Manual and GMPs. Act as the point of contact for government agencies and emergency responders. Lead projects and cross-functional compliance teams to continuously improve environmental stewardship and workplace safety. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; experience in Quality, Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field required. Three years of related experience preferred. Bilingual: English and Spanish (conversational fluency) . Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; strong computer literacy. Competence in reading, writing, and basic math. Deep knowledge of environmental regulations and policy frameworks. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Capable with technology and tools used for environmental inspections. Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment; can sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
