About The Position

Own the Program. Elevate the Standard. We’re seeking an industrial EHS leader to architect and drive a robust safety, health, and environmental program in a manufacturing setting. You’ll translate regulations into practical systems, ensure rigorous incident prevention, and foster a culture where every person owns safety. What You’ll Own EHS governance: develop, execute, and continuously improve policies and procedures aligned with OSHA, EPA, and state/local rules. Training and enablement: build curricula with the training team to ensure a secure, compliant work environment. Incident management: investigate injuries/illnesses, lead root-cause analysis, and verify corrective actions are completed. Human Performance: implement HP concepts via training, tools, and learning teams to strengthen reliability. Cross-functional partnership: collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and HR to address risks and remove barriers. Workers’ Compensation: assist with claims and coordinate documentation. Safety Committee: organize and facilitate employee engagement to drive continuous improvement. Audits and verifications: identify hazards, set corrective/preventive measures, and track closure to effectiveness. Security leadership: direct communications and oversight for the plant security company. Environmental stewardship: manage hazardous materials, air permits, and environmental reporting.

Requirements

  • BS in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline, or related field, with 5+ years in EHS.
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations.
  • Experience handling hazardous materials programs, air permitting, and reporting obligations.
  • Fluent with word processing and spreadsheet software; data-savvy and organized.
  • Clear communicator with leadership presence and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative team player; effective independently and in cross-functional efforts.
  • Thrives under pressure; able to prioritize competing deadlines without losing focus.
  • Prepared to respond to emergencies and work flexible hours as required.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA)
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)

Nice To Haves

  • Certification a plus: CIH, CSP, and/or CHP.
