About The Position

This leadership position oversees four key areas: Facilities, Planned Maintenance, Product Development Engineering, and Process/Controls. The role drives comprehensive plant maintenance activities to sustain operations and infrastructure through structured maintenance programming that prioritizes safety and reliability. The position requires strong team leadership and project management skills to guide cross-functional teams in manufacturing support activities, including process development, qualification, and equipment implementation.

Requirements

  • BA/ BS degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in operations
  • Minimum 3 years of managerial experience
  • Experience with Class III medical devices
  • Knowledge/experience working in an FDA regulated environment.
  • Ability to use design software, SolidWorks 3DCAD and Microsoft Project or equivalents.
  • Statistical Analysis Experience Preferred (JMP, Minitab)
  • Experience working in clean rooms; liquid filling processes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build a high performing technical team that helps meet or exceed operational objectives (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost).
  • Lead site EHS compliance.
  • Lead plant capacity analysis and planning.
  • Participates in cross-functional project teams and delivers individual project tasks.
  • Supports facility's Quality System and tactical plans.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and methods.
  • Designs, develops, qualifies, and validates manufacturing processes and tooling/equipment.
  • Statistically analyzes data (e.g. process capability, Design of Experiments).
  • Knowledgeable on materials for Sealant Franchise product designs in areas of responsibility.
  • Drives qualification and validation of new materials and suppliers.
  • Develop robust training programs for manufacturing on specifications and processes.
  • Authors CR's, protocols, technical reports and CB2s.
  • Technical interface with manufacturing teams.
  • Leads small multi-functional project teams.
  • Monitor and control site failure trends and maintenance costs to identify priorities, possible asset modification or decommissioning required.
  • Actively drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and performance and help achieve plant objectives for change to win (CTW) savings.
  • Effectively partner with Manufacturing Lead/ Supervisor to address manufacturing process issues and target the elimination of repetitive breakdowns.
  • Take leadership role in driving change management for the engineering and maintenance department related to people, structure, technology enhancement, regulatory and company initiatives on productivity.
  • Effectively communicate to management any critical actions needed to restore and maintain the basic conditions of the equipment/ processes to 100% reliability.
  • Ensures harmonization of processes, promotes, and enforces technical standards maintaining up-to-date knowledge and awareness of improvement methodologies and new techniques in maintenance.
  • Benchmark engineering and maintenance best practices against other BD sites and external references.
  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
