About The Position

The Plant Engineering Manager at Ocean Spray is responsible for leading the plant engineering team and overseeing engineering projects that enhance manufacturing reliability and process capability. This role involves managing system improvement projects, directing capital planning, and driving continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and support new product capabilities.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Financial management skills related to project budgeting and planning.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design, development, and implementation of technical systems improvements to support manufacturing reliability and cost objectives.
  • Direct engineering, process control, capital planning, and support systems to meet business needs.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering, generating both short and long-term improvement plans.
  • Support sustainability through optimized energy management and packaging reduction initiatives.
  • Manage financial aspects of engineering projects.
  • Develop and sustain capability to rapidly ramp-up new products, packages, and processes.
  • Drive key initiatives in fixed asset management, plant layout, line constraint optimization, and compliance with FDA/GMP/AIB/SQF standards.
  • Engage in typical managerial responsibilities including budgeting, planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating.
  • Serve as a Change Agent to elevate staff capabilities for organizational benefit.
  • Contribute to the plant's strategic direction and resource allocation as a key member of the leadership team.
  • Work effectively with plant functional managers to maintain a positive employee relations environment.
