About The Position

We are currently seeking an Entry Level Plant Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing production processes in a plant startup environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in starting up, optimizing, and ensuring the successful implementation of new processes and technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (prefer chemical, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing) or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience (Co-op/internships/full time) as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of production processes, including but not limited to, manufacturing, chemical processing, and quality control.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing processes.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on driving operational excellence.
  • Willingness and ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop work instructions and operating procedures for manufacturing.
  • Develop LOTO procedures for all equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Member of the commissioning team for the plant start up.
  • Analyze existing production processes to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to implement process improvements and resolve issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other data analysis techniques to monitor and control process variables.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in process design and implementation.
  • Ability to read/understand/utilize P&ID’s.
  • Train production personnel on new processes and equipment and provide ongoing support and guidance.
