About The Position

Emerson has an exciting opportunity at our Sherman, TX, location for a Weekend Shift Electrician (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6AM–6PM). In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems to support our operations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and two-year technical degree focused on the repair of electrical, mechanical, telecommunications or network installations.
  • Must be able to provide proof of active journeyman’s electrical license for Grayson County.
  • Minimum of 2 years hands on experience and currently qualified to install 120/240/480 voltage in manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge in the following areas: HVAC systems; Telecommunications; Electrical Circuits; Mechanical Systems; Air Compressors & Hydraulics; PLC basics.
  • Knowledge in OSHA regulations pertaining to electrical installations.
  • Ability to interpret maintenance prints and electrical schematics.
  • Must be able to obtain a mobile equipment license to operate all mobile equipment within 2 months.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all electrical services at Emerson- Sherman.
  • Fully plans and installs 120/240/480-volt electrical services which conform to city and NEC codes as required to ensure the safety of all employees and equipment.
  • Responsible for other maintenance duties such as LAN installations, phone lines, plumbing repairs and the repair of electrical/mechanical devices including but not limited to: Production machines, Assembly test equipment, Equipment assigned to the building such as boilers, air compressors, and HVAC systems.
  • Must work closely with Non-Product Buyer and factory technicians as required.
  • Must follow all safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Supervisor or Manager.
