About The Position

The Plant Controller at Printpack in Grand Prairie, TX is responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting activities of the Grand Prairie converting plant. This full-time position requires onsite work and involves managing accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and providing financial analysis to support business decisions. The role reports directly to the Finance Director and plays a crucial part in protecting plant assets and influencing operational results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 7 to 10 years of job-related work experience
  • Solid cost accounting experience with extensive/complex product lines
  • Proven track record of leading and influencing others

Nice To Haves

  • Public Accounting (Audit) / Manufacturing background
  • Experience working with large ERP systems; JD Edwards experience is a plus
  • CPA, MBA, MACC - all a plus

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage plant accounting functions, including oversight of accounting personnel, inventory valuations, and manufacturing cost accounting.
  • Protect plant assets through the development and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of inventory and operational performance standards.
  • Manage the monthly financial closing process, preparation and review of financial statements, and analysis of variances vs. forecast, standard, and budget.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, inventories, and customer/product profitability reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis to support business decisions regarding investments in capital equipment and plant process improvements.
  • Exhibit strong working knowledge of financial concepts, operational systems, and analytical tools.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership presence in production and business decision-making, along with the ability to positively influence and interpret operational results.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with all levels and functions of the organization.
