About The Position

The Plant Controller is responsible for leading the financial function for the site and actively participates in the operations side of the business as a member of the plant leadership team. This individual will ensure accurate and timely financial and management reporting; design and maintain a strong internal control environment; provide thorough analysis of the financial implication of operating decisions and issues; and prepare and present clear explanations of variances and financial results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated strengths in analysis, planning and forecasting and cost accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive P&L performance and autonomously lead the financial function for an operating site.
  • Proven track record of success in prior senior accounting roles.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement through improved processes and new technology.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for account management, budgeting, inventory and cost accounting, financial reporting and analysis.
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP (S4 - Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial process for the plant.
  • Manage the plant finance team and partner closely with plant management to achieve financial and operating objectives.
  • Manage and prepare monthly financial statements; review and analyze financial data.
  • Develop and manage annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements, general ledger account reconciliations and other analyses.
  • Work closely with Operations in regards to physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Track and analyze Raw Material, WIP and Finished Goods.
  • Develop and maintain internal accounting controls that are consistent with Company requirements.
  • Interface with insurance agents, outside counsel, customers and vendors as needed.
  • Monitor cycle counting program compliance and analyze results.
  • Prepare complex monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare year-end audit schedules.
  • Investigate methods of improving the capabilities of the finance organization through changes in structure, technology or method.
  • Recommend and implement initiatives to control operating costs without interrupting or constraining business operations.
  • Perform any other assigned tasks corresponding with the role.
