About The Position

The Plant Controller at Amcor functions as a key business partner within the plant leadership team, responsible for coordinating all plant accounting and financial activities. This role ensures the financial integrity of plant operations and leads the analysis of financial information to support strategic decision-making related to production planning, procurement, and investments. The position requires a blend of detailed task work, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to drive profitability and continuous improvement within the plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting.
  • Master's degree and/or CMA/CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience as a plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • High proficiency in Excel spreadsheets and ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Experience in developing and leading annual budgets, periodic forecasting, and monthly closing processes.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Previous experience in a SOX/GAAP accounting environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial direction and support to the plant manager and core management team regarding financial planning, budgeting, accruals, or investment activities.
  • Drive a strategic vision for optimal results and coordinate efforts to achieve objectives.
  • Create, communicate, and monitor plant-specific key performance indicators to measure performance and identify shortfalls.
  • Ensure plant management understands operational levers affecting profitability and drive ownership within the plant.
  • Lead discussions for all financial portions of plant monthly financial reviews and ensure timely dissemination of financial management reports.
  • Forecast and budget activities, delivering accurate financial projections and elevating risks/opportunities to management with recommended actions.
  • Maintain a strong internal controls and policy compliance culture at the facility.
