About The Position

PLANT CONTROLLER - HOOPESTON, IL Salary Range = $135k to $140k OVERVIEW: The Plant Controller will be a key member of the Finance Team/Plant Leadership and is responsible for managing the plant’s day-to-day accounting and finance functions. The Plant Controller reports to the Group Controller. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Driving efficiencies by managing the day-to-day accounting functions, month-end close, and regulatory compliance. Performs regular variance analysis and provides written and verbal explanations to management. Production and distribution of weekly management reports. Performs month-end close and monthly financial package reporting. Performs periodic internal audits to ensure the existence and maintenance of an appropriate control environment within the plants. Lead the plants’ day-to-day accounting functions (i.e., cost and inventory). Establishes and maintains the company’s accounting policies and procedures, ensuring GAAP is followed. Prepares financial reports and presents findings to management. Provides cost data, as required, to support corporate pricing decisions (supports Pricing Analyst). Responsible for organizing, supervising, and executing the monthly closing process. Responsible for the integrity of financial systems and processes, including account reconciliations. Financial analysis of operations. Ensuring compliance with the company’s accounting practices. Develops, analyzes, and interprets statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other measures of the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the plants. Comparative and variance analysis, including month-to-month, year-to-year, on reports outside of standard financial statements (includes root-cause analysis, for variance). Develops plant Annual Operating Plans, including detailed Plant Overhead Budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Ten years of hands-on accounting managerial experience.
  • Full understanding of accounting and GAAP with experience in cost accounting.
  • Cost accounting experience, including Bill of Materials, Labor, and Overhead accounting.
  • Prior work experience as a Plant Controller or equivalent.
  • History of achieving goals with clear career progression & relationship continuity.
  • Prior experience working with ERP systems.
  • Strong planning, budgeting, and teaching skills.
  • Expert-level MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills.
