About The Position

We're seeking a highly motivated Plant Controller to join a forward-thinking manufacturing firm in a direct-hire capacity. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with strategic financial and operational management.
  • Proven success as a financially-oriented manager with deep knowledge of cost accounting, production planning, and operations analysis.
  • Experience with NetSuite Financials is desired.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
  • Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, formulas, lookups, analytics, and model-building.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Foods (SQF), OSHA regulations, and manufacturing-setting expectations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask effectively, think strategically, and drive positive results.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and validate standard costs: bill of materials, item costs, labor routings, labor rates, overhead assignments.
  • Report variances to standards and partner with Operations to perform root-cause analysis and develop corrective actions.
  • Model and analyze changes in product design, raw materials, overhead structure, and manufacturing methods, and assess their impact on production costs.
  • Coordinate annual audits in collaboration with the CFO and ensure that financial reporting aligns with IFRS and GAAP standards.
  • Estimate, track, and report costs associated with new product development, contract manufacturing, and private-label partners.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to plant management regarding cost reduction and capacity planning.
  • Prepare and issue monthly financial statements, with comparisons to budget and forecasting.
  • Oversee payroll preparation, daily cash receipts, and maintain the accounts receivable ledger.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly; manage net working capital with a focus on A/R, A/P, inventory optimization, and prepare cash-flow forecasts.
  • Support Sales & Marketing in product-pricing efforts, in collaboration with the CEO and CFO.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls are maintained, general ledger accounts are correctly stated, regulatory compliance reporting is handled, and annual property-tax obligations are prepared.
  • Supervise up to two exempt staff members in finance operations.
