SUMMARY: The principal purpose of this position is to provide accounting support for the De Soto Converting and Equipment Manufacturing groups and to manage the day-to-day functions of the plant accounting department. Also provides analytical support for the management team. Responsible for developing and monitoring the annual operating unit budget. Responsible for the establishment and tracking of cost saving measures and the spending of capital funds for the local units. This leadership position will work with the rest of the Plant leadership team to develop and execute both financial and operational goals for the Plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree.
  • Prior work experience of 5+ years in accounting/finance field.
  • Prior supervisory/management experience of 2 or more years.
  • Have experience managing the entire spectrum of finance and accounting in a manufacturing environment including budgeting, accounting, and related department personnel.
  • Possess strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, technical and communication skills.
  • Can effectively interface with all levels of employees as well as external parties
  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, Business Intelligence, Excel, and other financial programs
  • Speak, read, and write English fluently

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial analysis, support and reporting for the De Soto Converting and Equipment Manufacturing groups.
  • Facilitate month end close and subsequent analysis of performance results.
  • As a member of the management team, develop a business plan and forecasts to estimate the future impact of such decisions.
  • Prepare timely and accurate operations reports for the management team that provide useful insights.
  • Provide necessary financial support to optimize inventory levels to maximize cash flow and profits.
  • Monitor capital expenditure budgeting considering project cost, financing costs, cash flow and return on investment. Also, review existing capital investments to justify viability.
  • Develop and maintain cost information, which can be used to guide decisions to support the plant’s goals, objectives, and strategies
  • Develop and achieve the Operating Budget for the site by providing leadership and direction to the managers of the various departments
  • Database administration and process improvement management by working with managers to identify ways to reduce cost and improve productivity--administer Bills of Material, Work Center Routings and develop Standard Costs.
  • Provide managerial support for the warehouse operation, including ensuring we provide the resources and tools necessary to operate the warehouse efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Perform variance analysis and work with Operations team to understand what is driving performance.
  • Responsible for the receiving and warehousing functions
  • Provide managerial oversight and support for facility finance and warehouse departments.
  • Continuous development of team members by understanding their capabilities and career goals, keeping them challenged in their jobs, and offering direction and assistance to achieve their goals.
  • Facilitate month end close and subsequent analysis of performance results.
  • Support facility success in reaching productivity goals.
  • Prepare and communicate relevant data regarding manufacturing performance trends.
  • Prepare and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish internal controls related to inventory flow through the facility.
  • Apply for state and local incentives and manage the tracking and reporting of these incentives.
  • Complete local, state, and federal reporting requirements for the facility.
  • Negotiate various vendor contracts.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects as champion, process owner, finance expert, or team member.
  • Perform monthly SQF (Safe Quality Food) and safety audits and document findings and corrective actions.
  • Facilitate capital project portfolio and budgeting process including tracking, monitoring, and communicating capital expenditures.
  • Calculate project cost, financing costs, cash flow and return on investment. Also, review existing capital investments to justify viability.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with all safety rules and precautions
