Plant Controller
About The Position
The Plant Controller will be responsible for managing standard cost accounting for a manufacturing plant. This includes maintaining bills of materials, routings, labor standards, and overhead rates, as well as analyzing material, labor, and overhead variances. The role also involves overseeing plant-level general ledger activity and month-end close processes, including inventory and work-in-process. The Plant Controller will partner with plant leadership to improve efficiency and cost accuracy, drive improvements to master data quality, govern standard costing configuration, and deliver reporting and dashboards to support decision-making in a fast-paced, imperfect-data environment.
Requirements
- Expertise in cost accounting.
- Proficiency in standard costing, inventory management, and reconciliations.
- Experience with journal entries.
- Ability to create pivot tables and use Vlookups in Excel.
- Proficiency with large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics, or SAGE.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 7+ years of experience in standard costing
- Cost analysis (labor, inventory, overhead, absorption)
- Reconciliations
- Recording journal entries.
- Experience tracking inventory and work-in-process (WIP).
Nice To Haves
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
