Reporting to the Regional Controller, this individual will be responsible for financial controls oversight of our PVI brand and the manufacturing site for a $120 million business. This individual will partner with the other Controllers and Accountants to manage the accounting, cost records, and internal control requirements of the sites. This role relies heavily on analytical abilities and experience to sort through complex data and prepare meaningful analyses to inform and influence leadership. This individual will work cross functionally to identify areas of improvement in financial controls and processes. This role supports our Watts Applied Solutions business and involves close collaboration with the corporate controllership group, internal and external auditors, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10 years of experience in a managerial and/or leadership role in finance or accounting for a manufacturing company.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial performance drivers, accounting principles, procedures and systems with a solid understanding of accounting and accounting controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, organize, and summarize data to prepare reports, financial journal entries, and financial analysis.
  • Proven ability to introduce and implement fresh ideas including process improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interface and work effectively with various members of leadership both within the Watts Applied Solutions businesses as well as Corporate.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems is required; SAP, Epicor, Glovia and/or QAD preferred.
  • Experience with Hyperion is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial controls processes for the PVI/Watts Applied Solutions business.
  • Collaborate with the accounting and finance team, providing controls guidance and expertise.
  • Work with leaders to identify and measure ways for improving accounting controls processes and procedures.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of accurate standard costs.
  • Analyze capital investment requests and ensure appropriate returns on investment while managing risks.
  • Manage the inventory cycle count program, audit results, and ensure overall program compliance
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate and complete financial records in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, GAAP, and Watts Accounting Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure a strong system of internal controls exists and is properly monitored and managed while making controls improvements.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Monitor legal, tax and regulatory changes and trends to identify and implement necessary actions to secure continued compliance, while proactively identifying emerging opportunities and threats, making recommendations to management.
  • Oversee 3rd Party sales and use tax program to ensure completeness and compliance with states.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Assists corporate Accounting, Legal, Treasury, Tax departments with requests for information and supporting documentation as needed.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate them.
