The role requires ensuring that property accounting SSC accurately records write-offs, retirements, asset valuations, and CIP accounts on the plant ledger. This includes monitoring for potential idle assets or assets to be put into production use. Collaboration with program commercial controllers, managers, and engineers is essential to align forecasted expectations and assist in the application and reporting of capital grants. Additionally, the role involves leading fixed assets inventory verification events and requesting necessary adjustments. The position also requires ensuring that inventory is accounted for in accordance with GAAP requirements and aligns with cost accounting policies. This includes supervising and auditing inventory verification events and collaborating with Materials Supply Chain teams to accurately report and optimize cycle count adjustments. The candidate will lead the monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual ledger closing activities for the plant, actively participating in corporate financial events and reconciling assigned accounts. Accuracy in accruals and journal entries, along with adequate backup, is crucial. The preparation of trial balance reports and reconciliation of local ledger accounts to the corporate book of record is also part of the responsibilities. Furthermore, the role involves preparing and evaluating variance analyses for sales through EBIT accounts, comparing actual results to budget and forecast commitments. The candidate will summarize and report details relating to business performance by plant and product platform, developing and communicating management reports for local and corporate management as required. The preparation, development, and review of financial budgets and forecasts are key tasks, including leading the financial budgeting assumptions for the plant and reviewing the profit plan with local management and the corporate operations organization. Collaboration with cross-functional team members in commercial, procurement, supply chain, and engineering organizations is necessary to confirm budgeting assumptions. Finally, the candidate must successfully pass statutory, SOX, and internal audits by adhering to key controls and providing necessary evidence. Performing standardized approaches relating to month-end accounting checklists and balance sheet reviews in accordance with controls expectations is also required.
