About The Position

The position involves applying GAAP controls to Plant financial operations to ensure adherence to internal controls, including SOX and other YFAI internal standards. The role is focused on optimizing profit and protecting company assets by assessing financial risks and opportunities. Responsibilities include leading local budgets and forecasts, communicating results to the organization, and assisting the Plant Manager in governance. The position also requires planning, monitoring, and authorizing capital expenditures for the plant, ensuring alignment with company strategies, and overseeing property accounting to accurately record write-offs, retirements, asset valuations, and CIP accounts. Collaboration with program commercial controllers, managers, and engineers is essential to align forecasted expectations and assist in the application and reporting of capital grants. The role includes leading fixed assets inventory verification events and ensuring inventory is accounted for in line with GAAP requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Level Degree in Economics with focus in Accounting, Finance, Controlling, or similar.
  • 7-10 Minimum Years of Experience with Financial and Business management.
  • Less Than 1 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

  • Apply GAAP controls to Plant financial operations.
  • Assist the organization to optimize profit and protect company assets by assessing financial risks and opportunities.
  • Lead local Budgets and Forecasts & communicate results to the organization.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in Plant governance.
  • Plan, monitor, and authorize capital expenditures for the plant.
  • Ensure property accounting SSC is recording write-offs, retirements, asset valuations and CIP accounts accurately.
  • Collaborate with program commercial controllers, managers, and engineers to align forecasted expectations.
  • Assist in the application and reporting of capital grants.
  • Lead fixed assets inventory verification events and request adjustments.
  • Ensure that Inventory is accounted for in line with GAAP requirements.
  • Supervise and Audit Inventory verification events.
  • Collaborate with Materials Supply Chain teams to report and optimize Cycle count adjustments.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual Ledger closing activity for the Plant.
  • Prepare trial balance reports and reconcile local ledger accounts to the corporate book of record.
  • Prepare and evaluate variance analyses for Sales through EBIT accounts.
  • Summarize and report details relating to business performance by Plant and Product Platform.
  • Develop and communicate management reports for local and corporate management.
  • Prepare, develop and review financial budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members in Commercial, Procurement, Supply Chain and Engineering organizations.
  • Successfully pass statutory, SOX and internal audits.
  • Perform standardized approaches relating to month-end accounting checklists and Balance Sheet reviews.
  • Prepare and distribute additional financial information as required.
  • Support ad hoc requirements from corporate staff departments.
