Plant Asset Reliability Manager

American LambDenver, CO
$80,000 - $90,000Onsite

About The Position

It’s 7:00 a.m. at our Denver facility. Production is ramping up, and you’re walking the floor—checking line readiness, confirming preventive maintenance windows, and syncing with your team on the day’s priorities. By mid-morning, you’re reviewing vendor bids for a critical retrofit, coaching a technician through a root cause analysis, and updating the maintenance budget forecast. In the afternoon, you’re refining the PPM schedule to cut unplanned downtime, aligning cross-functional partners on a small capital project, and closing the loop on safety audits. That rhythm—hands-on leadership, disciplined planning, and continuous improvement—defines this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; 5+ years of related maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
  • Confident communicator who interfaces well across all levels and handles sensitive/confidential matters with discretion.
  • Organized, multi-task oriented leader who thrives in a fast-moving production environment.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking; use of fine motor skills for tools, keyboards, and equipment; regular speaking and hearing.
  • Computer work with periods of visual focus; phone communication; moderate daily stress typical of a production setting.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs; frequently up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular exposure to wet/humid (non-weather) conditions and moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, variable temperatures, and non-weather extreme heat.
  • Occasional heights, contact with toxic/caustic chemicals, non-weather extreme cold, and risk of electrical shock.
  • Usually loud noise levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-skilled maintenance team to provide both proactive and reactive service across all production equipment and site infrastructure.
  • Plan, schedule, and complete maintenance work on time—optimizing planned downtime and minimizing unexpected outages.
  • Boost operational effectiveness by implementing modern maintenance practices, standard work, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Coach technicians on technical best practices; develop policies, procedures, and clear accountability for material spend.
  • Drive PPM: schedule, execute, and measure outcomes; ensure routine calibration and upkeep of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Oversee new equipment introduction to avoid disruption and ensure seamless commissioning.
  • Evaluate asset health and lifecycle; recommend repair, upgrade, or replacement to sustain performance and quality.
  • Manage safe, compliant disposal of obsolete machinery and plant equipment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and root cause analyses; identify and implement business improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, ensuring adherence to OSHA and company safety standards to protect employees, visitors, and partners.

  • Model excellence and reinforce performance standards with clear expectations and consistent coaching.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, on-time task completion, and accurate recordkeeping across CMMS/timekeeping systems.
  • Own the maintenance budget—from annual planning to day-to-day control—holding the team accountable to targets.
  • Solicit competitive bids and select the right partners for cost, quality, and service.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, procurement, suppliers, and service providers to meet customer requirements and elevate results.
