Belmark is seeking a Plant Appearance Technician to be responsible for the overall cleanliness and appearance of the production area. A pre-employment drug test and a background check are required if offered the position. Schedule: 1st shift hours are from 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday - Friday Pay: $21 - $23 per Hour. The hourly rate for this position is determined by the level of the role, relevant experience, and may incorporate shift differentials, ensuring fair compensation that reflects both expertise and responsibilities entailed.

Requirements

  • Requires education equivalent to two (2) years of high school.
  • The ability to speak the English language fluently and effectively utilize the English language.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions
  • Regular attendance is required, may be required to work some overtime.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
  • Ability to: stand and walk for 70% of work time; and stoop kneel, crouch or crawl for 30% of work time.
  • Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less; see clearly at 20 feet or more; identify and distinguish colors; observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; judge distances and spatial relationships; and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
  • Ability to: use hands for 100% of work time (i.e. wrenches, screwdrivers, etc); and reach above shoulders for 50% of work time.
  • Ability to lift: 10 pounds or less 30% of work time; 25 pounds or less 15% of work time; 50 pounds or less 10% of work time; and 100 pounds or less 10% of work time.
  • May move items weighing over 100 pounds.
  • May be required to use sense of smell.
  • Non-sales job postings are limited to residents in the states of Wisconsin and Arizona only.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
  • Dust and wipe all trim, production windows, exhaust pipes, presses, light booths, cabinets, walls and doors.
  • Sweep and mop production floors. This includes stairs, between presses, and along walls.
  • Pickup garbage and debris outside building as needed.
  • Clean presses (according to the weekly press maintenance schedule), compactor room, under compactor containers (when pulled) and any marks on floors.
  • Operate the floor scrubber.
  • Remove clutter from all areas of production.
  • Empty garbage.
  • Inventory office and production supplies and communicate with Purchasing department for reorders.
  • Deliver products received in shipping to proper destination.
  • Properly dispose of waste ink, spent solvents, and other designated waste according to hazardous waste handling guidelines
  • Assist Prepress department as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
