Summary: Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; others may be assigned: · Improve work methods · Report any safety problems to management · Follow all environmental, health and safety policies · Keep work area clean and orderly · Manage one’s own time efficiently · Evaluate self work to ensure compliance with work instructions and standards · Creating work orders and rework orders for customer shipment demand and non-conforming parts · Interface with manufacturing personnel, the Purchasing Department, Quality Control and Supervisors on material status and production planning issues. · Examine documents, materials, products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. · Analyze documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities. · Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes. · Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, and engineering. · Confer with establishment personnel to coordinate production and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays. · Calculate figures such as required amounts of labor and materials, and manufacturing costs, using pricing, adding machines, calculators, or computers. · Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments. · Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, and customer information, so that status reports can be completed. · Create and analyze reports including Bill of Material and DCN packets · Extensive knowledge of material work planning and methods engineering processes and procedures. · Create labels, work/sales orders · Make corrections to closed work orders · Copies data and compiles record reports. · Audit work orders · Operate office machines, such as scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers · Maintain and update filing and databases, either manually and/or electronically · Read and answer email on a continuous basis · Intermediate use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel · Intermediate use of Visual MRP system · Wearing the proper safety equipment · Other duties as assigned
