About The Position

Establishes critical path, balance of plant work, and matching labor expertise to specific jobs to improve the operating and maintenance outage and project efficiency. Assist in the development of long and short range plans for maintenance, capital improvement availability, and staffing. Assist workers and supervision in the performance of assigned tasks through the use of the work management system(s) and in the development of detailed work plans for project, outage, and maintenance work. Perform with proper guidance planning functions required to participate in outage / projects and other assignments in a safe, healthy, efficient and economical manner. Have the ability to analyze and recommend enhancements to department processes. Coordinate proper resources to the areas of the plant to optimize commercial availability. This posting represents multiple positions that offer a range of opportunities for advancement. The minimum qualifications outlined below apply to the Planner, with increased requirements for the Planner Sr and Planner Prin.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical related field or 2 years of maintenance related experience.
  • An additional 4 years of work-related experience in outage / project planning, outage / project field work activities and / or plant operations; or equivalent education / work experience.
  • Physical demand level is Sedentary
  • Required computer applications to be used in performing this job: Various work management systems, Primavera, Business Object Reporting, Pasta, Plant View, Excel, Word

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing plans to improve operating and maintenance outage efficiency.
  • Coordinate the development of input necessary to establish projected cost and duration.
  • Assists with providing input to annual budget and monthly forecasts.
  • Plan all work activities in accordance with the policies, practices, standards and rules of the company.
  • Coordinate plans with pertinent personnel to identify needed estimates.
  • Participates in company meetings covering outage / project schedule, safety issues and operations and maintenance of equipment related to work assignments.
  • Review work orders for accuracy.
  • Prepares and assists with analysis of reports using the work management system(s) & Business Objects.
  • Assists with work force and supervision to ensure that work is accomplished according to schedule and plan.
  • Understands the use of scheduling techniques for planning and scheduling activities.
  • Participates in the process of planning project, outage, and maintenance assigned work activities.
  • Assists in planning and estimating work activities using established standards.
  • Participates in company meetings covering outage / project schedule, safety issues and operations and maintenance of equipment as needed to meet assigned responsibilities.
  • Assists with producing final plans on assigned projects and outages.
  • Assists in the development of long and short range plans for maintenance, capital and staffing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
