About The Position

The Role: This is a high‑impact leadership opportunity for a results‑driven maintenance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll lead a talented team of Maintenance Group Leaders while driving the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of critical plant equipment and facilities. You’ll play a key role in keeping operations running at peak efficiency—combining hands‑on technical insight with people leadership and strategic problem‑solving—while working within GM’s industry‑leading maintenance systems. What You'll Do (Responsibilities): Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions, Recommends solutions to problems, and meets schedule and quality requirements in addition to the following responsibilities. Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements Implements divisional and corporate policies Implements safety and good housekeeping practices Frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment Participates in the selection of new employees Trains, develops and evaluates employees Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project Leads technical guidance for complex and unusual plant operations or projects Assists in the development of budgets and forecasts within assigned area Obtains a deep knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles Additional Job Description: Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Previous leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment 5+ years of experience within high-volume manufacturing environment Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence Ability to interpret technical documentation (schematics, blueprints, machine manuals)

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. in Engineering (other technical disciplines may be considered if: 5+ Years direct technical knowledge & experience in manufacturing industry)
  • Working knowledge of cost counsel activities
  • Prior Manufacturing Engineering or Maintenance assignment & working relationship with IUE and Union employees
  • Familiarity with GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS) and Lean Manufacturing principles
