About the role: The Planner III, Global Distribution Planning collaborates with Divisional, Regional and Country level SC Planning counterparts and serves as a bridge between BSC Planning, Distribution (Inbound, Outbound, Transportation), Manufacturing, and Sterilization to proactively manage & maintain finished goods inventory movements throughout the BSC network with an objective of driving supply chain efficiencies. Helps expand the end to end thinking and agility across the supply chain network while supporting our global BSC sustainability initiatives. This role will support global finished goods inventory flows. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. This role requires an hybrid workmode from our Quincy, MA location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required
  • 3+ years professional experience in a manufacturing / planning / operations function
  • Knowledge in ERP systems (i.e. SAP) or planning systems (i.e. Kinaxis)

  • Solid understanding of distribution center processes and transportation concepts
  • Understand Quality Requirements: ISO and CGMP
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience in using data analytics tools (SQL, Alteryx, etc.)

  • Highly adaptable to accept new ideas, people, processes and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Analyze actual shipping data to identify unforeseen variability in replenishments, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions where necessary
  • Manage replenishment master data in ERP and planning systems, processing updates and helping to drive data quality standard
  • Monitor automated processes, resolving errors as necessary to support the continued flow of finished goods
  • Support optimization of the near-term distribution plan through close collaboration with shipping sites and transportation
  • Review distribution planning lead time actuals vs. target, identify root cause for performance gaps, and drive improvements with partners (distribution, transportation, trade)
  • Coordinate distribution planning response to events (port strikes, natural disasters, etc.) through cross-functional collaboration
  • Analyze supply & demand data to identify inventory rebalancing opportunities and evaluate against total cost opportunity
