The Production Planner is responsible for developing production/supply plans that take into account forecasts, availability of material and manufacturing capacity, identifying and maintaining the appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize subassembly production and raw material supply plans. This position reports to the Production Planning Manager and is part of the Production Planning team located in Cortland, NY and will be an on-site role.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of manufacturing materials experience including direct support of manufacturing product planning value streams and scheduling or a Bachelor of Science Degree with a minimum of 1 year experience, or an AAS with a comprehensive understanding of production planning and scheduling.
• Continuous improvement systems and processes
• Strong MS Excel skills

Nice To Haves

• SAP Business System Experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop production schedules to provide on time delivery of finished goods for customer orders.
• Review part requirements generated by MRP, or Kanban triggers and utilize Pall’s Enterprise System (SAP) to evaluate component material requirements for internal manufacturing consumption as well as external customer orders.
• Release manufacturing production orders and communicate effectively with operations personnel and supervisors on the status of schedule delays, customer expedites or cancellations, and schedule attainment concerns.
• Provide production lead times based on material lead times, production capacity, and capability.
• Collaborate with necessary functions that will assist in determining the appropriate response to the customer or sales entity.
• Controls cost, quality, schedule, inventory and health, safety & environmental activities for the location.
